Kindness

by | Nov 29, 2022 | Jesus Christ, Kindness

On November 28, 2022 I experienced kindness from Jesus

I was given a $1,600 Christmas bonus that I didn’t expect from my employer.

I was told by my account on the same day, Cindy and I will get a tax return of approximately $4,000.

About two weeks eariler I got approximately $1,500 referral bonus when one of my UNLV students agreed to work.

About four weeks prior our A/C unit went out and that bill is $6,500. Then Christmas is coming and Cindy and I felt we needed to earn an additional $2,000 to cover cost of travel and presents.

I was laying in bed thinking about Jesus and the feeling came over me, how kind he has been to me this day. I was an answer to my prayer, that he is aware of my situation.

Then the next day, during my scripture study, I came across these verses:

In a litte wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment, but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the Lord thy Redeemer.

For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee.

3 Nephi 22:8,10

Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

1 Corinthians 13:4

Then when I was reading a talk from President Russell M. Nelson – The Power of Spiritual Momentum, I found this scripture which touched my heart and has given me confidence to set the goal to be free from bondage of debt in 2023 (currently owe $160,000 on my home mortgage).

For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on [me].

Isaiah 54:10

My Bishopric in the Las Vegas Tule Springs Stake – Silverstone Ward ask our entire ward to implement the Personal Development Youth Guidebook in our lives (Dec 2022 Sacrament Meeting). So part of my Spiritual goals (four aspects of my life are Mind-Intellectual, Body-Physical, Heart-Social, Spirit-Spiritual) I set the goal to payoff my mortgage in 2023. I have no idea how to do this in one year as it is a 15 year loan. I currently make about $110,000 a year. If I applied every dollar I earn to the mortgage, it is not enough to pay it off in 2023 (balance ~$160,000)
